Conventions & Programs Committee

1. Plans two membership meetings (Winter Summit and Annual Convention)
2. Selects the meeting site for the Annual Convention, in consultation with the Chairman of the Board and President
3. Selects the speakers educational programs at the meetings
4. Identifies social and recreational programs associated with the Annual Convention
5. Develops the committee annual budget

Education and Scholarship Committee

1. Identifies and develops member services that will enhance the value of membership in the Association
2. Identifies and develops educational programs benefiting the members
3. Identifies methods of providing effective learning experiences for the membership
4. Oversees the scholarship programs of the Association
5. Develops the committee annual budget
6. Recommends criteria to the board for the awarding of BEMA scholarships
7. Evaluates scholarship applications
8. Awards scholarship funds up to the amount determined by the Board of Directors

International Committee

1. Identifies global issues of concern to the members
2. Networks with international organizations
3. Gathers and disseminates appropriate industry information and statistics to the membership
4. Develops the committee annual budget

Market Research Committee

Chairman - Bill Grutter

1. Identifies research problems to study the potential benefits to the membership
2. Conducts surveys and disseminates the findings to the membership
3. Gathers market research relating to the baking industry and disseminates the information to the membership
4. Develops the committee annual budget

Membership Committee

Chairman - Don Osborne

1. Identifies and develops strategies for membership recruitment and retention
2. Identifies potential members
3. Solicits new members
4. Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on membership applications
5. Develops the committee annual budget

Marketing Committee

1. Provides input on how to enhance the awareness and credibility of BEMA
2. Recommends marketing and public relations strategies for BEMA
3. Assists with development and review of association's newsletters
4. Assists with development of association's exhibit displays

Safety & Sanitation Committee

1. Identifies regulatory concerns affecting the members and provides recommended courses of action for the association
2. Participates in standards setting organizations representing the interests of the members
3. Develops strategies to influence the standards setting and regulatory process
4. Disseminates information to the membership on standards and regulations
5. Monitors sanitation issues in the baking industry
