The new year is nearly upon us, nearly two weeks away. It’s always fun to look back on the year and reflect on some of our highlights. Thank you to our wonderful members, allied associations, vendors who joined us in 2017 and made the year a great one!
IBIE/ Planning began for IBIE 2019 with a team meeting in Chicago.
INDUSTRY/ The Grain Foods Foundation with BEMA’s support, launched the Eat a Sandwich campaign to support the industry and engage with consumers in a fun unique way.
SUMMIT/Member engagement at Summit reached an all-time high. The guest speakers shared findings on sustainability and the needs of global producers
EDUCATION/ THe Sanitary Design Workshop connected food and beverage leaders during a hands-on, multi-step simulation focused on food safety and sanitary design principles.
LEADERSHIP/ Kerwin Broan attended AIBs Baking Science and Technology graduation and presented the Excellence in Laboratory Leadership Award
CONVENTION/ Convention provided insights from baking leaders within the Canadian, tortilla/flatbread, organic markets and the CLIF Bar Company
CONNECTIONS/ In three hours, BEMA Connect hosted 156 mini-meetings between bakers and suppliers
GIVEBACK/ BEMA partnered with Heart to Heart International and hosted an online fundraiser helping families impacted by the fall hurricanes
BEMA-U/ BEMA-U welcomed its first class of graduates from the 3-session Transformational Leadership program. The course provides insight into developing self-awareness, enhancing performance and building a personal leadership strategy.
MEMBERS/ Kerwin Brown and Kelly Allen kicked off the Tour De BEMA road trip and visited several members along the east coast
