16 Dec CEO Insights: Reflecting on a Year of Growth, Connection, and Innovation at BEMA
As we close out another incredible year at BEMA, I find myself reflecting on all that we have achieved together and feeling deeply thankful for our members and the connections we share. This year has been a remarkable journey, filled with opportunities to come together, grow, and strengthen our industry.
Looking back, I’m certainly thankful for the connections we’ve built and how our members continue to engage by showing up at BEMA events, committee meetings, and Regional Dinners. From hosting the largest Convention in our history to meeting the BEMA ASCEND award winners and engaging with so many first-timers at NEXUS; this year’s events brought a youthful exuberance and vibrant spirit to our shared experiences.
As a staff, we dedicate much of the year to planning these experiences—from Convention and NEXUS to our regional events—and it is gratifying to see how these efforts bring our community together. Beyond our events, we’ve continued to deliver value through initiatives like BEMA Intel, BEMA-U sessions, and active participation in industry gatherings. Witnessing how our industry is growing and evolving through these programs is both inspiring and motivating.
My list of highlights for 2024 is long: from #TourdeBEMA to visit members with BEMA Chair Clay Miller, breaking bread together at Regional Dinners, gaining insights through BEMA Intel, to the incredible energy at our events. It’s been a year of meaningful connections, progress, and growth.
Looking forward, our mission remains to connect, educate, and provide resources to our members and the industries they serve. We’re already planning new initiatives, access to resources, and enhanced networking opportunities to help you thrive in 2025. There seems to be just a little time to rest over the holidays before we hit the ground running in January with the IBIE Exhibitor Summit, and before we know it, we’ll be gathering again in Las Vegas for IBIE.
Thank you for being an essential part of BEMA’s journey this year. Together, let’s continue to rise, innovate, and lead the way for the baking industry. Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year ahead.
Cheers,
Kerwin
