Q: You’ve been the Controller at BEMA for almost 4 years. What’s a favorite thing about your job?
A: I enjoy seeing all parts of the business and how BEMA supports the baking industry. I also like traveling to see members and attend various Trade Shows throughout the US (and the world before 2020).
Q: You have been key in the rollout of BEMA’s new Member Suite tool. What benefits are you seeing with Member Suite?
A: Our new database has really allowed us to track our members and their employees in order to keep up with the industry and get information regarding upcoming BEMA and industry events to the right people. While it’s had some hiccups, I think it will be a huge asset for the industry.
Q: What is an interesting industry trend you’ve noticed over the last few years?
A: Robotics and Automation. It’s coming and is amazing to see what our members are able to put together, such as full robotic lines. Hopefully, they don’t become internally aware and turn on us. 😊
Q: What do you love most about the baking industry?
A: Taste-testing the variety of new products that continue to evolve.
Q: What is your favorite baked good?
A: That’s a tough one because I like so much of it, but if I had to pick one I would say cheesecake.
