30 Jun INTRODUCING IBIEDUCATE 2021: A NEW EDUCATIONAL EVENT FOR BAKING INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS
In-person, interactive training has always been essential for growth in the grain-based foods industry—and even more so now, when major disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic, new technologies, and shifting consumer preferences are accelerating the pace of change across all markets. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of IBIEducate 2021, a new educational event designed to meet the immediate needs of baking professionals in a variety of roles and help our industry prepare for whatever comes next.
Developed by two of the industry’s leading organizations, American Bakers Association (ABA) and Baking Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA), with co-located sessions provided by the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), IBIEducate 2021 will deliver fresh perspectives and actionable advice on key industry topics. And if the event’s name sounds familiar, that’s because this inaugural gathering is part of the world-class education program at International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE), the triennial Baking Expo™.
“The IBIEducate program provides tremendous value to IBIE attendees every three years. I’m delighted that we’re able to bring similar educational opportunities to our community now, at a time when the industry is evolving so quickly and in such drastic ways, as well as at IBIE 2022 in Las Vegas,” said Dennis Gunnell, IBIE 2022 Chairman.
Like the program at the triennial event, IBIEducate 2021 will focus on real-world solutions that retail bakers, suppliers, and professionals involved in wholesale production, R&D and engineering can put into practice immediately. Sessions will include the latest intelligence and best practices on a variety of topics, including retail, workforce development, production, sanitary design, technology and ingredients. Attendees can also expect hands-on training, certification courses, IncuBAKER™, and Insights Discovery®, as well as facility tours and networking opportunities.
“This is what our industry is craving right now—immersive training that empowers professionals to navigate the current landscape and future-proof their organizations, while also cultivating the skills necessary for career advancement,” said Robb MacKie, President and CEO, ABA.
“It’s critically important that businesses evolve along with the industry—but to do that, baking professionals have to know which innovations and shifts are important to focus on now. IBIEducate delivers the practical training necessary to not only understand emerging trends and technologies but capitalize on them,” said Kerwin Brown, President and CEO, BEMA.
By taking a collaborative approach to learning, IBIEducate 2021 facilitates idea-sharing between attendees, as well as immersive education presented by industry leaders. The program has been developed to ensure that participants walk away with new skills, plans for tackling specific challenges, ideas on how to stay ahead of baking industry advancements—and an expanded professional network.
IBIEducate 2021 is coming to Kansas City, Missouri, October 26-28. Visit IBIEducate.com for more information and to sign up for updates, so that you can be the first to know when registration opens. We hope to see you there!
