Gary Larsen is the Director of Business Development for Squid Ink. He nurtures the relationships Squid Ink develops with their OEM suppliers.
Kelly Allen, Membership Manager for BEMA had an opportunity to ask Mr. Larsen a few questions about himself and the organization.
Q: What drew your company to join BEMA?
A: Squid Ink has long been an OEM partner to companies that serve the bakery industry. The industry aligns well with our core group of products and BEMA provides an excellent channel for us to introduce our self to manufacturers looking for coding and marking solutions.
Q: What do you love most about working in the baking industry?
A: I love that the industry is constantly growing while improving on ways to deliver the best products in the world, the best ways possible.
Q: What is something new or innovative that your company has done recently?
A: Squid Ink continually works to design new products and improve on existing products. One example of this is our Squid UV LED curing system – designed to mount on bakery and produce lok closure systems to print product and date information directly on loks, closures, and closure labels.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A: I am a father of two lovely teenage girls. When I have time, I love to golf and spend time on the water at my lake cabin in northern Minnesota.
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: The ability to freeze time. Not only would I be able to accomplish more throughout a day, the ability to freeze time makes most of the other superpowers unneeded.
Q: Is there anything else you would like BEMA members to know?
A: Squid Ink is committed to helping manufacturers across all industries deliver products to the world. We do that by continually improving our products in an effort to offer the highest quality ink jet fluids and ink jet printing equipment possible.
ABOUT SQUID INK
World Class Printing Systems for Real World Applications
In 1992, the ink jet fluid industry was ripe for change. Manufacturers were selling drop-on-demand ink at more than $300 per 5-gallon pail.
Squid Ink saw an opportunity to provide high quality products at a fair price. We began manufacturing a higher quality product and selling it at $75 per pail. Our ink jet fluids ran cleaner than the competitive fluid at one-fourth the cost.
Squid Ink increased the quality of the product, gave customers more value for their money and gained their trust. Customers have relied on Squid Ink products ever since. Today, our product line has expanded to include barcode and batch code printing equipment and case taping equipment, as well as superior quality inks. For more information click here.
